The local music scene has been struggling and COVID-19 has made things even harder for us to thrive so we have the opportunity to work on the NYC Mayoral campaign for Joycelyn “Jaja” Taylor in a capacity that would bring our concerns to her attention with the intention to include our unique needs as part of her platform.
Some of our suggestions to benefit our creative community include:
- Affordable housing
- Compensation reform
- Fair practices for venues/vendors
- Government grant opportunities
- Mentorship programs
- Music instruction in public schools K-12
- Support for artist visa applications and more…
I’m sure you’d have a lot to contribute regarding other issues that should be raised, so I would like to personally invite you to a virtual meet & greet with Jaja every other Wednesday at 7pm.
Space is limited so I encourage you to REGISTER by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with questions and concerns you have.
Feel free to share this information with other musicians, artists, DJs, and collaborators who you know may be interested.
Jaja is dedicated to learning how our city should better support the local independent music scene and I encourage you to check out her website to get to know her a little more before this gathering: https://taylorfor2021.com/
Details for the meet & greet are on the above flyer and I hope you can join us to help make NYC an even better place for the creatives that make it so special.
Thank you for your daily dedication to making NYC one of the best places in the world for live music! Bless!
